Alexander Gallows and Missy Curl are a folk duo based out of Washington D.C. Known for their fluid harmonies and immersive songwriting, the two met as students at the University of Maryland School of Music, Gallows studying jazz guitar and Curl earning her degree in classical voice performance. First performing together on each other’s respective recitals, the pair began venturing into folk music, tapping into Gallows’s early influences of rock and roll, blues, and singer-songwriters. Along with covering artists like Joni Mitchell, Simon & Garfunkel, and The Beatles, Gallows began composing for the duo, writing to highlight Curl’s effortlessly fluid voice, the intricacies of his own guitar playing, and the storytelling of his lyrics. Gallows & Curl was born.
Now, the duo can be found performing around the D.C. area at farmers markets, breweries, and venues including Madam’s Organ and District Winery. Curl can be heard on the latest Alexander Gallows EP, The Painter and the Actor, a unique blend of songs and monologues that weave a folkloric tale. Rebecca Porter (IG: @rebeccaportermusic)

A singer-songwriter born in Guam and raised in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, Rebecca Porter continues to forge her way in country music with songs that are heartfelt and honest. Porter’s lifelong, innate connection to music guided her into and through a decade’s worth of live performances. In 2021, she took one step further and entered the world of solo performance. Porter utilized her experience as a performing and recording artist and continues her steady climb as one of Virginia’s artists on the rise. Through the balance of her distinctive storytelling and dynamics of her commanding voice, Porter gives audiences a unique display of soulful classic country.
